Robert C. Jackson
“I believe that fundamentally, the core of our being is fed by both the comedic and the dramatic. However, the tendency of most art leans towards drama, leaving us slightly malnourished. Therefore, I have a pretty simple hope: to feed the appetite with a touch of humor and provide some pleasure to life. I try to engage the mind and heart of the viewer with amusing narratives.
I am acting as a playwright, starting at Act 1/Scene 1, allowing the audience to imagine and determine the rest of the interactions, scenarios and even the ending. Fruit, balloons, cakes, toys, and cookies are my actors, always on the verge of some sort of role play. Vivid colors, composition, props and text provide the staging and scenarios, all participating in the enhancement of the story. Interpretation is left to each individual admirer." - Robert C. Jackson

ABOUT THE ARTIST
"Robert Jackson’s work has always been more than just beautiful. His paintings, rendered in realist fashion, exhibit a masterful technique. The pieces are vibrant and colorful. His compositions are well balanced and complete. He makes painting look easy. Yet the work possesses uncommon depth. It displays a sharp wit. It personifies human nature in a disarming way. By employing playful objects such as cakes & candy, balloons & toys, fruits & vegetables, Jackson is able to replicate potentially disastrous circumstances, naughty behavior, and sticky situations in a humorous manner. In addition, Bob’s paintings characterize popular puns and explore American vernacular. In so doing he provides an aperture for collectors to connect to the work on many levels." - Zola Solamente, Owner, Arden Gallery
