“I have always been attracted to barns and fishing shacks. Although often in very poor shape, I find myself wondering what they looked like and how they blended into the landscape when they had just been built. I also find myself awed when I stumble upon one still standing in an open landscape. I embarked on a project of renewing these structures in an architectural sense and placed them in a pure, clutter-free environment. Free of perspectives, the distant horizon gives an impression of depth, peace and serenity.”

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Born in 1959 in Montreal, Francis Lipari’s background and decades-long career in graphic design & advertising has had a profound influence on his work. Pure lines and richness in colour choices blend with a minimalist approach. Largely influenced by his love of nature, Lipari’s subjects are carefully chosen and presented in their purest form. His settings are devoid of clutter, thus evoking a sensation of peace and serenity.
Broad strokes of thin acrylic washes, multiple layers, and subtle hues create depth, while the main feature is highlighted by a signature mark of realism…inviting all the focus and attention it merits. When looking at his work, F.Lipari wants you to feel its mood and be transported into his world.
