Jenny Kelley
"Part of my excitement in painting flowers is finding big, beautiful peonies, zinnias, hydrangeas, and roses at flower farms & markets...especially on "pick-your-own" days. I love to paint peonies at all their different stages, from tight round balls to full, blown-out blossoms. Zinnias have lovely and complicated centers, many of which have tiny rings of flowers within them."

ARTIST STATEMENT

“I am passionate about flowers, about capturing their every nuance and detail. Painting from direct life observation is an important part of my process. The urgency of direct-life painting fuels me, because I know that I have a limited amount of time to capture each flower in paint. Flowers all have different personalities and I love to arrange them in ways which highlight each individual bloom's unique characteristics."
