ABOUT ARDEN GALLERY LTD.
Arden Gallery Ltd. - Exhibiting contemporary fine art by internationally recognized artists on Newbury Street in Boston, MA. Arden Gallery proudly displays an eclectic mix of styles, media, and subject matter. Our programming includes pop-realism, abstract, still life, figurative, landscape, photo-realism, surrealism, and photography. We strive to present high quality works that captivate viewers, inspiring them to build collections that are distinctly their own.
Arden Gallery Ltd. was established on Newbury Street in Boston's esteemed Back Bay neighborhood in 1987 by the lively and beloved Hope Turner. Hope oversaw the success of Arden for 30 years before retiring and selling the gallery to its current owners, longtime Arden Director Zola Solamente and her partner Rick Boomer. Zola and Rick continue Hope’s model of welcoming all to the space with positivity and warmth. They emphasize loyalty to the artists they represent, while building long term relationships with collectors, both Boston based and throughout the world, serving them with honesty, creativity, and vision.

Zola Solamente at Arden Gallery Ltd. Fine Art
Zola Solamente has been the Director of Arden Gallery Ltd. since 1999. She walked into Arden and instantly knew it was the place she wanted to make her professional home. Zola studied Studio Art and English Literature at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, while also earning 4 National Championships and All-American honors with the Women’s Soccer program. She played on the United States Women's National Soccer team from 1991-1993, representing her country in several international tournaments. Her first job out of university was at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, followed by positions with two independent, woman-owned contemporary art galleries before she and Rick moved to New England to raise their daughter, now a writer in New York City. In addition to curating exhibitions at Arden and running the gallery, Zola has provided consulting services to artists and collectors, as well as juried shows for non-profit venues. She has also lectured about collecting contemporary fine art at local universities and adult education events. When not in the gallery, Zola serves as an Envoy with the US State Department traveling to underserved countries around the world, coaching and speaking about how sports can empower girls & women, and unite communities. She is a volunteer art teacher at Girls Inc. in Lynn, MA. Zola is a competitive sculler, has a passion for playing tennis, and paints in her home studio.
A 1987 graduate of Colgate University, Rick Boomer studied English Literature, German language, and Art History, while captaining the Raiders' Division I soccer program. Rick has been with Arden Gallery since 2014. Prior to this, Rick taught high school English, history, and writing, and coached soccer and lacrosse at Landmark School for students with Dyslexia and LBLD. He also spent many years as a Certified Montessori Lead Teacher, guiding 9-12 year old students through all subjects in a mixed-grade classroom. Rick is thrilled to be immersed in the world of fine art. Outside of the gallery, he is an ardent attendee at World Cup soccer tournaments around the globe, continues to play soccer in an over-the-hill men's league, and can sometimes be spotted kayaking the estuaries north of Boston on Massachusetts' beautiful north shore.
